Established in 1988, NASSCOM has been instrumental in shaping the growth of the IT-BPM industry in India.
The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) is a non-profit trade association of the Indian Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing industry. Established in 1988, NASSCOM is a global trade body with over 3000 members, which include both Indian and multinational companies that have a presence in India.
NASSCOM's member companies are engaged in software development, software services, software products, consulting, e-commerce, web services, and business process management. The industry has played a significant role in transforming India's image from a slow-moving agricultural economy to a land of innovative entrepreneurs and a global player in providing world-class technology solutions and business services.
Our mission is to build the architecture of India's technology industry by focusing on the following key areas: policy advocacy, creating market opportunities, networking and partnerships, capacity building, and corporate social responsibility.
Over the years, NASSCOM has evolved to meet the changing needs of the industry. From being primarily a facilitator for software exports in the early years, we now focus on a wide range of issues that impact the industry's growth and development. We work closely with the government on policy issues, with academia on skills development, and with our members on business development and industry promotion.
